Below are acceptable forms of payment, unless a contract specifies otherwise:
• Any horse
for sale requires full payment or a non-refundable deposit to hold/take off the market. Our non-refundable deposit is 25%
of the sale price of the horse. It is a common practice when taking a horse off the market to have a non-refundable deposit. •
We require a Sale Contract for all sales. This is for both your protection and ours.
• Full payment is
required at least 2 weeks prior to releasing the horse, unless the buyer is bringing cash. • We will care
for the horse for a period of time agreed upon at no charge, and will provide the horse the same care we give our own
until the horse can be picked up or transported. Beyond the agreed time, a board fee will be established. •
Pre-purchase exams are encouraged at the buyer's expense. Coggins and health papers are at buyer's expense if you are
out of state.
• Buying a horse using a payment plan. We sometimes can provide payment plan options, but
generally try to reserve the option for foals prior to weaning. Payment plans bring up issues that are best prevented by selling/buying
a horse outright. For example: who is responsible if a horse gets sick, will there be board, how long will payments be allowed.
If a payment plan is agreed upon, the buyer will not be able to take possession of the horse until full payment is received.
